Our families are most at risk of serious injury and harm when we are driving them around in our cars so anything that you can do to make driving safer is money and time well spent.
Anytime it rains and particularly at night, I am aware that the risks are even higher with reduced visibility and the added difficulty with judging distances. That’s why I was very happy to try a new product released by EnduroShield which allows for better vision in the rain.
Here I am below 5 months ago applying the EnduroShield rain repellent to my car windscreen. It’s a pretty easy process as you can see and I’m happy to report that it is still doing a great job of repelling rain after nearly 6 months, making our family safer on the road during wet weather conditions.
Check out my video demo of this great product available at ALDI as a special buy from this Saturday the 7th of October … Drive safer, drive confident with EnduroShield. Unlike traditional windscreen coatings which need to be regularly reapplied, EnduroShield is ultra long lasting. One application can provide up to 1 years’ protection from rain, dirt, and oily road grime on new and old windscreens. Dramatically improved visibility in wet weather is just the beginning. You can also be in the running to win a Visa Gift Card valued at $500. You can find out all the details here http://aldimum.com.au/one-simple-tip-keep-family-safer-car/

The concept is really simple … the product coats the glass and then once cured, it will repel the rain and improve visibility. It also makes it easier to remove ice, frost and bugs as it sits on top of the glass. Since they sent us a bottle, we have applied it to our own cars and have been very happy with the results.
Application
It’s a very simple process to coat your windscreen and it can easily be done at home in less than 20 minutes. It’s good to apply to dry and cool glass so keep out of direct sunlight.
Step 1 – Clean the windscreen
The first step is to get the windscreen as clean as possible to start with by using a regular streak free glass cleaner. We used a product that we already had and it makes sense to spend a little time getting the glass fresh and ready to for the product to bond to. Remember to get in to all of the corners and under the windscreen wipers. If you have applied other coatings in the past, it’s important to remove those thoroughly.
Step 2 – Applying the Rain Repellent
Applying the product is very easy! Simply open the Application Cloth that is in a sealed sachet, spray the product onto the cloth and then systematically wipe it on side to side and up and down. Go over the windscreen thoroughly and overlap your path to make sure every spot is covered. Do one ½ and then the other half using the other side of the cloth making sure once again to get right into edges and corners.
The product doesn’t leave much of a wet look and you have to trust that it’s going on OK. You use about ½ of the bottle on an average car windscreen so be liberal with it and put a good few minutes into applying each side.
Step 3 – Buffing any Streaks
Once you are convinced that you have applied the rain repellent all over, simply take a microfibre cloth and buff the windscreen until there are no streaks or hazed areas. The windscreen should look amazingly clear and clean. We found that by getting on various angles it was possible to spot any areas with streaks and it took a few minutes to be sure.
Step 4 – Allow to Cure
The product appears to dry immediately however it is very important to leave for 8 hours to cure before using your windscreen wipers. Obviously overnight in a garage would be perfect for this. Once cured, the coating will last for at least 12 months and will repel rain and increase visibility for much safer driving.
Results
We hosed the car just to see how effective it was and the water beaded up and didn’t blur on the glass. Once in the rain, the wind rushing by literally blew the rain off the glass, between the wipers, instead of blurring on the windscreen, which was awesome for better vision and I really did feel safer.
This product will be in-store at ALDI Saturday the 20th of July.
